The "CENTAURES" Alliance history?

Once upon a time, a few bikers from the "Isle of France" decided to ride together and create what was going to become the beginning of a wonderful adventure. Those were troubled times and founding a bikers "club" in Paris 's suburb was not such an easy thing, but they did it!

Originally, we were the "Bukaners", but a conflict between two other major "MC" (one owning the Northern part of France and the other the southern) had become quite violent and a small club from southern France naming themselves the "Buccaneers" decided to affiliate themselves with the enemies of our neighbors?. To make a long story short, we decided to change our name and our color to protect the integrity of the club and stay clear from any misunderstanding. Some of us decided to leave and go their own way at this point but the core of the club remained and we became the "CENTAURES" association ("MC" has a different meaning in Europe?). The president, Marco, and the 6 original members of the CENTAURES aimed at regaining respect and recognition from other clubs as well as from the general population which at the time was not to thrilled to see long bearded bikers around. We achieved that goal in one shot by creating our first annual rally in Saint Leu la Foret. The idea of inviting both world to a single event was bold but it took rather well and the participating cities saw a way to get some attention from the media (election time was close again?). From there on, the name "CENTAURES" got around, and we even got our dragster to the 7th place in the top 20 of France (not bad considering it was running on regular gasoline). The CENTAURES association is still very active and organizes concerts and several other events in their county ("departement" in French).

In January of 1992, the "secretary" of the association, Olivier, (that's me, aka "Roy", "Frenchy" or "Big O") left for the US and a few months later founded the "CENTAURES" of Nevada. After some troubles with a Nevada 1% MC, the members went their own way and left Olivier without a club! In July 1996, Olivier moved with his family from Las Vegas to Denver (Colorado) and decided to found the "CENTAURES Alliance" a family oriented association of bikers with the same common interests: Horses and Harleys, but good members were hard to find. In May 1999, Olivier is moving to the Tampa Bay in Florida and is more than ever trying to transform the "CENTAURES" Alliance into a reality.
Still in its infancy, the CENTAURES Alliance, is not wearing any colors but will be as soon as the new revised logo is approved by our brothers from France (not in three parts this time!).
